A Man and His Wife Are at a Restaurant and the Husband Keeps Staring at an Old Drunken Lady Swigging Her Gin at a Nearby Table. His Wife Asks, "Do You Know Her?" "Yes," Sighs the…

Husband, "She's my ex-girlfriend. I heard she took to drinking right after we broke up years ago."

His wife looks at him, concerned. "Wow, I never knew she was that affected by your separation."

The husband nods solemnly. "Yeah, unfortunately. I heard she's been struggling ever since. It's sad to see."

As they continue their meal, the husband steals occasional glances at his ex-girlfriend, feeling a mix of pity and regret. Suddenly, the old lady gets up unsteadily and begins making her way towards their table.

The husband starts to feel uneasy, not knowing what to expect. The wife, sensing his discomfort, takes his hand reassuringly.

The old lady reaches their table and with a slightly slurred speech, she says, "I'm sorry to interrupt, but you look so familiar. Have we met before?"

The husband hesitates for a moment, debating whether to reveal their past connection. But then, he smiles warmly and replies, "I don't believe we have, ma'am. Have a pleasant evening."

The old lady nods, slightly puzzled, before returning to her table. The husband looks relieved, grateful for the opportunity to avoid an awkward confrontation.

Throughout the rest of their meal, the husband reflects on the choices he made in the past and silently hopes that his ex-girlfriend finds peace and happiness in her life. As they leave the restaurant, he holds his wife's hand a little tighter, feeling grateful for the life they've built together
