The first day of school our professor introduced himself and challenged us to get to know someone we didn't already know. I stood up to look around when a gentle hand touched my shoulder. I turned

around to find a friendly classmate smiling at me. She introduced herself as Sarah, and we quickly struck up a conversation.

We discovered that we had some common interests, including a love for reading and a passion for outdoor activities. We talked about our favorite books, shared stories from our summer vacations, and discussed our expectations for the new academic year.

As the class continued, Sarah and I became fast friends. We helped each other with assignments, studied together, and attended campus events as a duo. Our newfound friendship made the transition to college life more comfortable and exciting.

Over the years, Sarah and I continued to support each other through the challenges and triumphs of our academic journeys. What began as a simple introduction in a classroom led to a lasting friendship that enriched our college experience and extended far beyond our school days. It was a reminder of the beauty of stepping out of our comfort zones and connecting with people we didn't already know, as it can lead to some of the most valuable and enduring friendships.
